The Learning Specialists work in tandem with teachers to support students, provide accommodations, and identify students with potential learning differences. Learning Support looks different in each division and is designed to respond appropriately to the developmental needs of our students. The Learning Specialists also remain current in mind, brain and education research, sharing this information through ongoing internal professional development.
If parents have concerns regarding their child’s performance in school, the Learning Specialists can help determine if an evaluation might be helpful in identifying possible learning differences. The Lab also maintains an ever-growing library of reading materials that parents are welcome to utilize. Please also visit The Lab Google page for regular updates, helpful resources, SAT/ACT information, and upcoming parent-education events.
If you have have questions regarding learning support or would like more information, please contact Rachel Schmalhofer, Director of Learning Services at schmalhoferr@lancastercountryday.org.
